In classes over the past year, we have offered tools and ingredients for sale to participants. Now it's time to introduce our Shop to the website!
At Parker Hill Provisions, we want to make it easier and more enjoyable to make good food. During classes, I always try to impart the right technique so it's as stress-free as possible when you return to your own kitchen. But the other big piece of the puzzle is making sure you are armed with the right tools and ingredients. I really don't want anyone to waste their time, money, or energy with subpar inputs.

For example, how many people wrestle with parchment paper rolled up in a box? Has anyone in the history of time ever had a satisfying sheet tearing experience? Even if you miraculously manage to get a straight cut, it doesn't even lie flat! (I can feel my blood pressure going up just writing this). So, what is the solution? Flat, pre-cut sheets of parchment paper like what I have used in every bakery, restaurant, and cooking school. It is so easy and so gratifying to use, and I think it will make baking a much more pleasant experience. If that means more of your baked goods in the world bringing people together, then that's a win.

Therefore, you'll see kitchen staples like flat parchment paper sheets, bowl scrapers, premium chocolates, and vanilla bean paste. We'll be adding some locally-sourced secondhand items soon since there are lots of quality tools out there looking for new homes, and why buy new when there are great pre-loved options that are less expensive? Items are available for pick up during the two hours before every class. Feel free to reach out if that doesn't work for you.
Lastly, next Saturday is our two-part Get Cultured event, and only a few spots remain. In the first half, I'm excited to assist my fermentation maven Alegre Fowler in the Natural Soda Making class. I'm also excited to breathe new life into our locally thrifted swing-top bottles and mason jars with sodas and ginger bug starters. Come join us, it should be a lot of refreshing fun!
The second half of Get Cultured: Crème Fraîche & Shortcakes is sold out, but please reach out if you'd like to join the waitlist or are interested in additional dates.
