Get Cultured: Crème Fraîche & Shortcakes
In this Healdsburg cooking class, we will learn how to make crème fraîche at home so you can easily add it to your favorite recipes. We will use the cultured cream to prepare the classic summer treat of sweetened biscuit-like shortcakes, topped with whipped vanilla cream, and piled high with sweetened berries and/or peaches. We'll even demonstrate how to convert your crème fraîche into your own cultured butter.
Participants will sample shortcakes in class and take home four four-inch or eight two-inch shortcakes, whipped cream, macerated fruit, and crème fraîche ready to culture.
