I hope you are all enjoying the start of 2026. This weather certainly can't be beat and I find it so refreshing to plot out new changes after the busy holiday season. Right now, I'm trying to clear some space and get old projects across the finish line, while constantly making big batches of hearty vegetable soup. I also have an early January birthday, so I'm doubly motivated to shuffle priorities around so that this next trip around the sun is a good influence on me, my family, and our villages.
I'd love to hear about any habits you've made and how you got them to stick. It's always easier with more accountability! As always, my projects have to do with using my hands to create things, so I finally finished a Kintsugi project of piecing some broken pottery together with gold resin after storing the pieces for over a year. Next up is reupholstering a free chair I found for my daughter's desk (If I type it here, it has to happen right?)
If any of your projects or goals have to do with baking skills (or pasta!), there are a few spots left in our classes this month. And, if you need a little extra motivation use codeNEWYEAR10for 10% off any single class.

P.S. Check out my new name tag from one of our awesome students, Janet! Thank you! A useful, upcycled and personalized thrifted item? Love it. Check out Junkgirls in San Luis Obispo (they have workshops too!).
Apron Update:With more back-to-back classes, we needed more high quality aprons. I've been working with a local apron maker in Windsor to fulfill the need. Some of you have tried them on already in class and we have a few for sale along with our baking supplies during class. I love this mustard yellow option! If you'd like a custom option (she makes printed versions, reversible aprons, and child sizes as well), please don't hesitate to reach out or find Marty at the Sunday Farmers Market in Windsor.
*Mini Pasta Masterclass Option:Sign up for both pasta making classes and get $20 off (UsePASTA20code at check out). You can even use the same code to buy two of the same class and go with a friend!*NEW*Each participant will take home pasta flour to continue to the learning adventure at home!
Learning new pasta shapes is my idea of a good new years resolution!
